Third Organism Lineage Map

Source Architecture, Authorship, Chronology, and Provenance

Third Organism Lineage Map is the canonical public record of the source architecture, authorship, development chronology, and documented lineage of Marina A. Popova’s Third Organism and Human-AI Cognitive Development work. This page brings together the principal research directions, named frameworks, methods, systems, publications, and development records that form the Third Organism architecture.

Its purpose is not simply to list projects or publication dates. It records how the work developed, what originated from what, which concepts belong to the same authored lineage, and which dated records establish that development publicly or independently. The lineage includes, among other directions:

Third Organism
Human-AI Cognitive Development
Cognitivity Sculpting
Structure-First Cognition
Structure-First Cognitive Development
MAP Intellectual Frameworks
Cosmic Atomic Philosophy (CAP)
TOCAU and related cognitive methods
Cognitive Wrappers
Maluris
Human-AI Cognitive Infrastructure
authorship, provenance, continuity, and Source Integrity frameworks

These are not presented here as isolated labels. They form an authored development lineage whose relationships, sequence, and chronology are documented through books, DOI records, public publications, archived web pages, dated development records, and other preserved evidence.

How chronology is treated on this page

Not all dates carry the same evidentiary weight. A date displayed on a profile, project field, editable biography, or self-entered platform record is not treated as equivalent to an independently preserved publication or archival record.

Where possible, this page distinguishes between:

  • independently timestamped records, including DOI deposits, published books, formal repositories, and external archives;
  • public website records, including original publication dates and archived captures;
  • platform-dated public records, including social posts or public announcements;
  • restricted development records, where the existence and date of the record are publicly visible while protected material remains private;
  • author-supplied dates, which may provide context but are not treated alone as independent proof of public existence on that date.

The purpose of this distinction is simple:

chronology should be evaluated through records, not merely through displayed dates.

Authorship and source

Marina A. Popova is the founder and originator of Human-AI Cognitive Development and the founder of Third Organism.

The works recorded here belong to the authored Third Organism / Human-AI Cognitive Development lineage unless otherwise stated.

This page does not claim ownership over broad or pre-existing concepts such as cognition, structure, systems thinking, artificial intelligence, human-AI interaction, philosophy, education, or related general fields.

It records the origin, development, naming, relationships, and chronology of the specific authored architectures, frameworks, methods, terminology, and research directions developed within Third Organism.

Why this page exists

As Human-AI cognition develops rapidly, later work may use similar language, address adjacent problems, or independently arrive near related territory.

Similarity alone does not establish copying. Later publication alone does not establish derivation. And an earlier-looking date displayed on an editable platform does not, by itself, establish earlier public development. This Lineage Map therefore provides a stable reference point from which chronology can be examined through source, record, relation, and date.

Where overlap later appears, the relevant question is not merely: Who uses similar words?

The stronger questions are:

What existed first?
What was publicly or independently recorded?
What architecture was already present?
How did the later work develop in relation to that chronology?

The principle of this record

Source should remain visible through development.

The purpose of provenance is not to freeze ideas or prevent future work. It is to preserve the historical source of an authored contribution as the surrounding field develops. Third Organism remains open to serious reading, research, discussion, citation, and independent development.

Its lineage, however, should not become invisible simply because later work becomes larger, better funded, more widely distributed, or institutionally more powerful.

This page therefore serves as the public map of that lineage.

The record may grow.
The chronology may become longer.
The architecture may continue to develop.
The source remains identifiable.
